Now that you understand genre, well maybe not yet ! Well this site will remind you of what you're going to expect in a horror movie for example.

And why should this site be anything more than just funny.  Well, as film connoiseurs, you shouldn't be too impressed by a directors handywork if it's been seen and done so often as to be a cliche!

Directors

Cinemedia is the largest internet movie database and really comprehensive on movie directors.

The quality of the content varies, so if you see a website made on geocities, then it's someone's homepage probably.  So double-check your facts.

Use LII [Librarian’s Index to the Internet

Film as a search term will waste a lot of you time because the number of links are so large and many of the pages are just fronts for advertisers, movie trailers and commercial sites. Use LII

and don't be disappointed.

use the search terms film history and criticism.  You'll find here some already produced studies which can prompt you to investigate your own theories.
